Episode 1 - What is raw food?
September 4th, 2007Finalist - Best Florida Film!
September 4th, 2007Wow! It was another whirlwind tour: Seattle (Bastyr University), Ft. Bragg, CA (Vibrant Living Expo), San Francisco and Orlando. “Supercharge Me!” was received very well everywhere it went. It played to packed houses and at the Vibrant Living Expo in Mendocino County, CA, the venue was so full that people were standing in the back and sitting in the aisles. I got to indulge myself in gourmet raw food at Chaco Canyon Cafe in Seattle, The Living Light Cafe in Ft. Bragg and Cafe Gratitude & Alive Cafe in San Francisco. It was wonderful to meet so many beautiful people along the journey. I’ll be posting some photos soon.
The Central Florida Film Festival was just last weekend and “Supercharge Me!” was a finalist for the best Florida film. What an honor! I met many amazing filmmakers, most much more seasoned than I. It was great to commisserate with them and learn from their experiences. I saw a lot of great films. Some of my favorites were “Finding Kraftland,” “Desert Rose,” and “One of Our Own.” I also took a seminar on film finance, which was hosted by industry pros from L.A. I learned a lot of things I wish I’d known when I started this project, but better late than never.
Great news! We’re about to launch the “Supercharge Me! Podcast.” It will be a weekly video program, 5-10 minutes in length, about various topics relating to health and the raw food lifestyle. The first podcast, called, “What is Raw Food?” launches today. It features Brian Clement, Ben Vereen and others. It can be found right here on the site, as well as on iTunes, YouTube and other podcast sites.
“Supercharge Me!” in Seattle
August 18th, 2007I’m in beautiful Seattle for the first time for a special screening of “Supercharge Me!” this evening at Bastyr University. Yesterday, I went to the Phinney Ridge Farmer’s Market with Monika Kinsman, the founder and director of the Raw Network of Washington. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and we had a great time meeting people and handing out information about the screening along with Larabar samples (the yummy raw fruit & nut bars).
Today we’re heading to the University District Farmer’s Market, then the Pike Place Market, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this weekend! The film screening is at 6 p.m. this evening, followed by a Q & A, then there’s an after-party at Chaco Canyon Cafe (one of Seattle’s top organic, vegan restaurants). Seattle showgirls will greet guests and there will be gourmet raw food samples from Chaco Canyon, Cafe Flora (Seattle’s #1 Vegetarian Restaurant), and dalene’s *cuisine for clarity (an upcoming gourmet raw foods restaurant on the Eastside). If you’re in the area, please come join us!
From Seattle, I’m heading to San Francisco then to Ft. Bragg (Mendocino) to show the film at the Vibrant Living Expo (August 23-26) along with the other winners of the Hollywood Raw Lifestyle Film Festival. This will be a wonderful event at the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute with raw food authors, experts, chefs, etc. from around the world.
Then I’ll fly back to Florida to show the movie at the Central Florida Film Festival in Kissimmee on Saturday, Sept 1.
Hope to see you at one of these exciting events!
