Hooray! Just got word yesterday that “Supercharge Me!” is an official selection of the Central Florida Film Festival! The programming director told me the decision was unanimous. Five out of five judges said they believed the film would be an asset to their festival. I’m very excited to accompany the film to the festival. The two editors of “Supercharge Me!” (Paul Zadie & Dave Flaton) graduated from Full Sail, the intensive film school in Orlando. so it’ll be nice to be screening the movie near their alma mater. The festival takes place over Labor Day weekend. If you’re in the area, hope you can join us!
“Supercharge Me!” Official Selection of Central Florida Film Festival
Sunday, July 8th, 2007Happy Independence Day!
Wednesday, July 4th, 2007Happy 4th of July!
I recently took a trip back to my hometown of Washington, D.C. to visit with friends and family and plan a hometown screening of SUPERCHARGE ME!
Public transportation in D.C. is wonderful, so I hopped on the Metrorail to get around and encountered the strangest thing. The train was jam-packed on a Saturday morning with little girls wearing matching T-shirts. Turns out it was the 95th anniversary of the Girl Scouts and 200,000 of the munchkins had descended upon the nation’s capital. Later that day, when I went to the National Zoo with my father and brother, I saw another crowd of girl scouts and I got a photo of the cutie pies.

I made sure to thank them for reducing the amount of hydrogenated oil in their girl scout cookies. I shudder to think how much of that killer substance I consumed in the Thin Mint cookies I used to eat directly from the freezer.
Lucky for me, I recently found a wonderful raw cookie recipe by Stephanie Gallagher. Now, when I have a sweet craving I eat these much healthier cookies from the freezer.
So, it’s Independence Day and I’m back in Florida now where I’m hosting a RawBQ today. When I think back on the 4th of July in the past, I have fond childhood memories of watching the fireworks every year on the grounds of the Washington monuments. It was a thrilling experience.

Today I’m celebrating independence from many angles. Foremost for me right now is my independence from the Standard American Diet (SAD).
A “Happy Birthday” shout-out to my friend & former colleague Patrick Pacifico who has been very supportive of my efforts with “Supercharge Me!” It’s his big FOUR-OH! What a day to be born.
Rawsome Review!
Friday, June 29th, 2007i am thrilled with this movie review that just came in from Jake Jacobson of Westwood One/CBS Radio. Jake has reviewed more than 23,000 films, so this is a HUGE honor.
———-
“Jenna Norwood’s new documentary ‘Supercharge Me! 30 Days Raw’ is that rare work that can actually change your life for the better, and that’s what this dynamic filmmaker achieves. Of infinitely more value than Morgan Spurlock’s testament of what NOT to do nutritionally, Jenna Norwood lays her life bare in exposing the virtues of living on a diet based on raw vegetables and fruits and she makes one hell of a logical argument. She appeals to our inherent goal of living and eating well and naturally, and this engaging and informative treatise motivates you in ways that a thousand self-help books can’t. Original and spirited, ‘Supercharge Me!’ is inspirational food for thought.”

Pretty cool, eh? Of course Morgan Spurlock’s film, “Super Size Me” inspired “Supercharge Me!” I am very grateful to Morgan for his innovative and eye-opening work.
