For the past five years, I have been shooting footage and have been working on a TV show concept. It’s been growing organically and finally culminated in, “Getting Fresh with Jenna,” which will be airing on all the major Web channels very soon. Meanwhile, I’m seeking TV airtime for the show, so I threw my hat in the ring for Oprah Winfrey’s competition for a show on her new network. I was one of the last to enter, so am more than a month behind most contestants as far as voting. Show Description:

Jenna Norwood is an award-winning, independent documentary filmmaker (”Supercharge Me! 30 Days Raw) and global health advocate. Her show concept, “Getting Fresh with Jenna,” incorporates several elements of the health (mind, body, spirit & planet) advocacy that she has engaged in on a regular basis for the past five years. Travel adventures to learn about foods that grow in nature and how they’re prepared by various cultures around the world. Interviews with experts and celebrities in her kitchen at home while preparing delicious and nutritious foods. And field trips to schools to inspire students of all ages to be more conscious of the effects of their foods choices on all aspects of their lives. There’s no end to the fresh experiences we can share!

Episode 6 - Jenna’s Healthy Kitchen - Kale Coleslaw

In this episode of Jenna’s Healthy Kitchen, Jenna’s guest chef Evona Poplawski demonstrates how to prepare a marinated kale cole slaw recipe that is delicious and very nutritious. Evona is a raw (living) food chef who trained at the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute. She’s also the co-founder of Veggie Magic Foods based in Sarasota, Florida.


• 1/2 bunch fresh, organic kale, de-stemmed & cut into thin ribbons (about 1 cup packed)
• 1/8 head cabbage, shredded (1 1/4 cups)
• 1 tomato, diced
• 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
• 2 Tbsp red onion, finely chopped
• 1/8 tsp sea salt

• 1 Tbsp olive oil
• 1 Tbsp flax oil
• 1 Tbsp light miso
• 1/2 Tbsp fresh-squeezed lemon juice
• 1/2 Tbsp agave nectar
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1/4 tsp mustard powder
• 1/2 tsp crushed garlic
